Fuel cost calculator

Illustration for the fuel cost calculator

Estimate trip fuel use and cost from distance, fuel efficiency and local fuel price.

Formula and example

Fuel used = distance × litres per 100 km ÷ 100. Cost = fuel used × price per litre.

Worked example

A 250 km trip at 7 L/100 km uses 17.5 L. At 1.80 per litre, estimated fuel cost is 31.50.

Assumptions and limits

Assumes the fuel-efficiency figure applies across the full trip. Actual use varies by vehicle, route, load, weather and driving style.
